    Christopher Smith

    MANAGING PRINCIPAL

    With thirty-five years of experience, Chris brings a wealth of knowledge in real estate development, financing, brokerage, construction, and property management to Ox Hill.

    His former experience includes time with developers Trammell Crow Company, Corporate Office Properties Trust, Centennial, and Ackerman & Co. During that period, he worked extensively in office and retail, mixed-use and entertainment development, public-private partnerships, and university housing and development.

    In addition to two decades working on the developer side, and after a period on the tenant side, Chris created a strong practice in guiding organizations with their real estate from renovations, relocations, new developments, repositioning, acquisitions, and dispositions locally, nationally, and internationally. This practice has evolved into Ox Hill Companies and its subsidiaries, including Ox Hill Capital, Ox Hill Development, and Ox Hill Realty. Ox Hill Real Estate Development focuses on projects addressing the needs and goals of organizations and communities with added value creation through the incorporation of complementary uses.

    Mil “Flip” Wallen, a 41-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry, specializes in commercial/mixed-use and data center/mission critical construction, design, and development with significant experience building a variety of product types in the region.

    He is the founder and owner of TRINITY Group Construction (TGC), established in 2002, an awarding winning construction company and one of the leading commercial builders in the Washington, D.C. metro area. Prior to founding TGC, Flip worked his way up through Southland Concrete and Tucon Construction/Landstar Development companies for over 20 years. During this period, he became an expert in developing retail, preschools, medical, hotels, and assisted living facilities. He has also invested his practice in life sciences and laboratory construction.

    Flip directs the construction pricing and implementation for Ox Hill Real Estate Development. His focus on the latest technology trends keep his approach fresh, new, and innovative, surpassing industry standards.

    Flip has become one of the most trusted sources of knowledge, wisdom, and leadership in the metro D.C. development and construction market, where he has developed and built millions of square feet in the market.

    He is a graduate of James Madison University with a BBA in Management Information Systems.

    Mossadaq brings more than 40 years of diverse business experience to Ox Hill Companies.

    In addition to his role at Ox Hill, Mossadaq directs a sizable portfolio of commercial real estate holdings in the Washington, D.C. metro area and Pennsylvania.  He has numerous achievements as a board member or partner across diverse business sectors including data centers, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and farming.  He has successfully built companies from start-up to acquisition and generously provides his leadership skills and advice to the next generation of entrepreneurs.

    Mr. Chughtai has played an active role in promoting a stronger relationship between the U.S. and Pakistan and was a founding member of Pakistan American Leadership Center (PAL-C), which established the Congressional Pakistan Caucus in 2004.

    Murray College, Sialkot, in Pakistan, with executive degree from MIT Sloan School of Management in artificial intelligence. He serves on the boards of several organizations, including the advisory board of EME College of Nust University in Pakistan.

    Frederick “Freddie” Garnes brings 20 years of experience in construction project marketing to Ox Hill Companies. Fred has honed his expertise primarily in residential development.

    Prior to joining Ox Hill, Fred sharpened his marketing and advertising skills at Newland Corporation, Brookfield Residential, Classic Homes, and the John Wieland Homes and Neighborhoods. He leverages his knowledge in project management, contract negotiations, strategic communication planning, social media and brand messaging to establish, and align Ox Hill Companies’ marketing plans with its business goals.

    Denise is the Director of Marketing for Ox Hill Companies.  She brings more than 15 years of B2B and B2C marketing and public relations experience managing and leading teams. Denise has worked in a variety of roles in residential and property management construction, as well in the veterinary industry, telecommunications, information technology, and nonprofit associations.

    Denise specializes in creating digital, omnichannel, brand positioning and awareness, and social media strategies for business growth, and profitability.

    Prior to joining Ox Hill Companies, Shelley honed her skills at two of the largest multinational management consulting firms, the world’s preeminent museum and education complex, a regional civil engineering and land surveying company, and several national commercial architecture firms serving the office, retail, and mixed-use development design sectors. She leverages her unique career path and project experience spanning interior design, architecture, management consulting, and civil engineering in the planning, design, and construction of innovative and contextually-sensitive built environments.

    During her tenures at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Booz Allen Hamilton, Shelley specialized in operational strategy and assessment, program management, data visualization, business requirements analysis, and customer relationship management. In 2013, she joined Smithsonian Enterprises managing a team of interior and graphic designers dedicated to the design of revenue-generating spaces, including cafés, theaters, and retail stores, both within historic museum properties and in commercial leased spaces.

    Shelley is a NCIDQ Certified Interior Designer and a graduate of Marymount University’s Master of Arts in Interior Design program.

    Dual degrees from the University of Pennsylvania’s Design Theory & Structural Technology program— a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture (Design of the Environment).

    James “Jim” Delery brings 35 years of experience in construction and contract management to Ox Hill Companies. Jim has honed his expertise primarily in the hospitality, restaurant and retail industries.

    Prior to joining Ox Hill, Jim demonstrated strong project management skills at Marriott International, Sunburst Hospitality, Costco, Kindercare, and the Smithsonian Institution.

    Jim leverages his knowledge in vendor selection and management, contract negotiation, strategic planning, process improvement, and communication to align day-to-day operations with business goals and client objectives.

    Deirdre brings more than 30 years of knowledge and practical experience of the green industry to Ox Hill Companies.

    Before joining the company, Deirdre was the principal of Flower Power Inc.  Established in 1994, Flower Power provided high-end residential landscape management to clients in the Washington, D.C. metro area.  Creativity, attention to detail, and unparalleled service were the hallmarks of the company’s success: generating over $1 million in sales annually with a portfolio of over 60 accounts.

    Prior to Flower Power, Deirdre held a position at Ruppert Landscape, where she managed a number of prestigious accounts — including Washington Harbour, Georgetown Park, the Canadian Embassy and Ambassador’s residence, and The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.  In 1993, one of the gardens Deirdre directly supervised received a Grand Award for Total Residential Contracting/Maintenance from the Landscape Contractors Association MD-DC-VA.

    Her award-winning gardens were featured in publications such as The Boston Globe and Southern Living magazine.

    Deirdre is a graduate of Fordham University with a B.A. in English and Communications.  She attended George Washington University Landscape Design Certificate Program. She is LEED and WELL accredited.

Prior to joining Ox Hill Companies in the role of interior designer, she worked with leading commercial design firms StreetSense and RD Jones, specializing in hospitality and multi-family projects across the United States. Kathleen has successfully collaborated with multinational brands to deliver unique, dynamic environments driven by the end-user experience. She brings her expertise in brand building, placemaking, design, and construction administration to the team.

    Michael has three decades of experience working with large investment portfolios and securities. His prior experience includes 29 years at Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae structuring mortgage portfolios into securities. He has structured some of the largest securities transactions on record, and his lifetime transaction volume exceeds $100 billion. His background also includes four years at the National Association of Realtors and Prudential Home Mortgage.

    Across the organizations Michael has served, he has started new departments and launched groundbreaking products. He was a founding member of a multi-billion-dollar department focused on portfolio transactions, launched a new department to solicit and onboard small-to-medium sized lenders and helped them achieve their affordable housing goals. He also negotiated and engineered credit risk sharing structures with mortgage investors saving millions in insurance costs, and founded a department responsible for data integrity and analysis on portfolio purchases.

    Michael’s experience building organizations and launching products ensures a steady and deliberate growth trajectory for Ox Hill Companies. He is astute at collaborating across business disciplines and setting appropriate goals for the organization.

    He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from West Virginia University with a specialization in banking and securities analysis and a minor in accounting.

    JooYoung gained the ability to successfully collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders through his experience in hospitality development and uses qualitative and quantitative analyses to achieve creative development.

    Born and raised in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, at the age of 19, Bek decided to pursue his university education in the United States. Fluent in Uzbek, Russian, and English, Bek enrolled in George Mason University, majoring in Finance and minoring in International Business. While at the university, he developed a strong interest in real estate development, which led him to pursue an internship with Peterson Companies at National Harbor.

     As an intern, Bek reported directly to the Vice President of National Harbor, Kent Digby, and the Assistant Vice President of National Harbor, Christopher J. Borgal. His role there involved assisting in the management of the company’s National Harbor portfolio, which included a mixed-use real estate development portfolio spanning more than 425,544 square feet of retail, 410,251 square feet of office space, eight hotels, and 1,404 residential units. During his internship, he created, monitored, and oversaw 37 distinct budgets across all asset types. Bek worked closely with the operations, marketing, accounting, and property management teams to ensure coordinated efforts across departments and drive systematic improvements across the company.

    One of his proudest achievements during his internship was being involved in the construction and grand opening of Spirit Park at National Harbor, which boasts one of the tallest flagpoles in the Washington, D.C. metro area. Having been there from day one of construction until the completion and grand opening, it was a thrilling experience for Bek to see the project come to life.

    In his free time, Bek enjoys indulging in his passion for building Legos and watching documentaries or movies based on true stories.

    Sherry is the Controller for Ox Hill Companies. She has more than 20 years of accounting experience working in the construction industry.

    Sherry specializes in budgets, financial analysis, compliance, streamlining business operations, and developing strategies to achieve and sustain financial growth. Sherry enjoys bringing together processes and procedures to ensure compliance and strong financial integrity.

    Prior to joining Ox Hill Companies, Sherry worked in both the private and public sectors, which includes working with some of the “Big Four” largest public accounting firms world-wide such as PwC and Ernst and Young.

He took part in the renowned Jessup International Law Moot Court competition for law students, showcasing his aptitude for international law in both written and oral pleadings. Aidan’s commitment to his professional growth led him to secure a coveted position in the NYLS Venable Summer Associate Program, where he gained valuable experience in litigation through numerous professional training workshops and mentoring by seasoned attorneys.
